Holiday home for max. 5 persons
Wieck am Darß, Fischland-Darss-Zingst, (Darß), Germany
Holiday home in Wieck A. Darß with large terrace
Our semi-detached house is located 100 m north of the Bodstedter Bodden, i.e. from the large terrace to the south you can look out over the Bodden - slightly restricted by our neighbour's house and some trees. Wieck is a small state-recognised resort with approx. 900 inhabitants and is therefore tranquil and quiet even during the season.
The terrace is very large, south-facing and well equipped with patio furniture. The garden area is fenced on three sides.
The house is 85 square metres in size. On the ground floor are the hallway, a shower room, kitchen, dining room and living room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with a double bed (180 x 200), one with two single beds (90 x 200) and the third with a single bed (90 x 200) as well as the second shower room. Free internet and two satellite TV sets allow for up-to-date communication. A fireplace in the living room creates a cosy atmosphere. The Edeka supermarket in Born has kindling and logs available for you.
Wieck is located on the Darß, a forest area of approx. 40 square kilometres, which borders directly on the Baltic Sea and thus offers unique natural beaches that can only be reached on foot or by bicycle. Historically, we are talking about three islands that have merged over the course of time. In the 14th century, the forces of nature and the inhabitants permanently connected Fischland and the Darß with the mainland. The island of Zingst followed in the 19th century. The result is not only a scenic peninsula with around 60 kilometres of fine sandy Baltic Sea beach, but also almost 200 square kilometres of Bodden waters between the peninsula and the mainland. Fischland Darß Zingst is generally referred to as the Sylt of the East. Wieck lies on the edge of the 'Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft' National Park, which is home to one of the largest crane resting places in Europe. More than 40,000 of these migratory birds offer a unique natural spectacle in spring and autumn.
Wieck is the smallest community on the Bodden with around 800 inhabitants. But let's let our children speak for themselves when we moved into the house around 25 years ago: Our youngest, then aged 5, was delighted with the nearby children's beach (only 250 metres), the shallow water and the shady trees on the beach. After all, there is rarely any shade on the beaches. Our 'middle' son, 15 years old, still without a girlfriend at the time, thought the small town of Wieck was boring. Our eldest, aged 20, liked to cycle to the west beach with his girlfriend so that he could be 'on his own' and enjoy the beautiful interface between the forest and the Baltic Sea - an interface that allows natural beaches to develop.
