Property no. 974899
Holiday apartment for max. 4 persons
Nus, Aosta Valley, (Monte Emilius), Italy
Holiday apartment with an attic and a south-facing balcony, in a wonderful panoramic location in front of Monte Emilius
The house with this holiday apartment to let is in a village called Venoz at an altitude of 1800 metres and belongs to the town of Nus. The village consists of about 20 houses from the 18th century, which have been restored carefully and using typical materials from the valley.
The south-facing balcony affords a beautiful view of Monte Emilius.
The house was built as recently as 1993, but in a traditional style and with local materials. The apartment is on two floors. The ground floor has a big kitchen and a living room, a bathroom with a shower, and two bedrooms with two single beds and a bunk bed. The room with the bunk bed is not provided as a bedroom, but guests are welcome to use it anyway. There is a wardrobe and a sideboard with bed linen and towels in it. The upper floor has an attic room with a French double bed (140 x 190cm). Some of the owners’ personal items are kept in one of the bedrooms, as they also use the house occasionally, when it is not let out. There are books and personal items in the apartment, as well as a washing machine, oven, dishwasher, gas heating, colour TV, stereo system, furniture, carpets, bed linen, blankets and hand towels. Apart from the gas central heating, there is also a pellets stove (filled sacks are available in the house, prices per sack are listed under “firewood”). There are also cupboards for storing your luggage. In total, the accommodation has space for four people, including children.
The surroundings are very quiet and ideal for relaxing or meditation. Not far from the house there are a cross-country skiing trail and a snow shoe trail, leading through the charming landscape of the Aosta Valley. In summer there are many interesting hiking options. There are many hiking trails nearby leading up to 2600 metres, where there is the Cuney Oratorium. The nearest village with shops and services is Nus, 16km from Venoz. It is a further 11km to the town of Aosta, which is the capital of the Aosta Valley region, with around 50,000 inhabitants. In Aosta you can find everything you need: a train station, bus connections that link the town to the surrounding valleys, a shopping centre, a lovely pedestrian zone with shops, bars, restaurants and historical monuments from Roman times. In Venoz itself there are no shops, but in Lignan, a village about 1km below Venoz, which also has an observatory, you can find a family-run restaurant and a tiny shop with essential groceries. In Nus you can find a wider range of grocery shops, a bakery, a pharmacy, a post office, a bank etc. It is recommended to do grocery shopping there. The nearby airports are Milan-Malpensa and Turin. You can hire a car at the airports. The Saint-Barthelemy valley is at the centre of the Valle d’Aosta and from here it is easy to get to the Monte Bianco, Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso and Cervino mountains.
Next to the house there is a parking space where you can park your car. You can access the Internet in the apartment with an Internet stick, which is provided free of charge and offers about 3GB per week. A mature dog is allowed, but cats are not, owing to the danger of allergies. Dog owners are requested to vacuum clean the house thoroughly before departure, even though the owner also carries out a final cleaning.
