Follow the white beach coast to the south where you can find many beach restaurants and beach bars. Here you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas. From the fishing village Fonte da Telha on, it gets more quiet. Walk along the deserted beaches until the Lagoa Azul, a haven for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Further south you will come to the Praia do Meco, a particularly popular destination for young Portuguese people. In the summer, concerts are held, but also the numerous small pubs in the Aldeia do Meco a worth to get in and eat.
Behind the Aldeia do Meco the nature reserve Serra da Arrabida begins, which extends up to Setubal.
In the middle lies the picturesque fishing village of Sesimbra, which is worth a visit in any case. Enjoy sitting there in one of the many really good restaurants with their fresh fish or shellfish dishes. Very early in the morning on the beach you can still assist to the auctions of the catches of local fishermen.
A round trip by car over the Serra da Arrabida offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Drive in any case down to Portinho Arrábida. A beach with an upstream rocky island, where you can see idyllic fishing boats rocking in the water. In Portinho da Arrabida the Atlantic shows its peaceful side. Crystal clear water, no waves.
At the end of your round trip through the Serra da Arrabida you reach the town of Setubal. From here you can book a boat tour, for example, the ROUTE DOLPHINS, where you can see, if you are lucky, dolphins or the THREE BAYS TOUR, which lasts a whole day, lunch included.
Or take the car ferry to Troia, and ride the next 100 kilometers along the white sandy beaches towards the south.
